A NATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH
A support circle for anyone with a
life limiting diagnosis
How do we live fully and richly at this stage of life?
How do we walk towards our mortality, rather than running from it?
How to we hold both grief and joy, life and death, hope and reality?
This group will provide a safe, held space to enable you to meet and share
with others who are going through a similar experience.
PEER FACILITATED
The group is not about teaching you anything! I am finding my way with a life-limiting diagnosis and I don’t have the answers! The aim of this group is to provide a space where we can explore together how to navigate this
liminal space, balancing life and death, hope and reality, joy and grief.
CELEBRATING DIFFERENCE
The group is an inclusive space, where everyone’s uniqueness is celebrated – you are welcome just as you are, however you are. Everyone is welcome, people of all genders, ages, beliefs, ethnicity or life experience. We will have a set of guidelines for the group to ensure that everyone feels heard and valued.
SHARING EXPERIENCE
Each session will have a different theme, or question to explore. We will hold sharing circles where we sit in witness to one person at a time. Few opportunities in life allow us to be fully heard and it can be very empowering. There will also be open discussions where we can learn from and be inspired by each other.
CREATING COMMUNITY
Receiving a life limiting diagnosis can be an isolating experience, even for those with a good support network. It can be difficult to talk to family and friends, as they often want to “fix” us or find it facing the future too painful to talk about. The group will connect you with others who, whilst not in the same boat, at least are on the same sea!
